This bow is great for learning the sport. I’m a grown woman but a younger child or smaller man would be able to use this bow with ease. I love that you can change the poundage to allow for almost anyone to use it. Archery has quickly become a sport I love and will continue with thanks to this bow. The staff onsite are great! Very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and will spend the time with you without making you feel rushed to explain/answer every question or concern you may have.
Genesis Archery Original Genesis Bow
The bow looks and feels solid all around. It's fun to shoot and easy to share since no length adjustment and relatively low draw weight. Since there is no fixed draw distance, you can't "lock" into your draw, which makes it a bit harder to control when fully drawn compared to a compound bow with a let-off and a fixed draw length, nothwithstanding that let-off bows generally have a much higher initial draw weight and a much stiffer release. As a beginner, I like those features on the genesis because it allows me to play around with my form and build my stabilizer muscles. It's easy enough to draw that I can shoot lots of arrows while heavy enough for straight shots at a distance. It takes some strenght to control properly at the stock 20lbs draw weight but you can always adjust it down to 14lbs for a younger teenager, for example. You can put a sight on it but it's not needed.
Overall, I'm very satisfied and would recommand to anyone looking for a quality bow to get into archery. Great value in my opinion if you're not looking for a hunter's bow and just want to shoot some arrows.
